WHAT'S THIS CRYPTO THING ALL ABOUT?
MetaJAX is on a mission to protect and promote the finest performers, songwriters, composers, and instrumentalists around the globe by producing and broadcasting their high value music and content to the world with empowering technology.
Cryptocurrencies are disrupting our financial systems and democratizing access to banking instruments for people around the world. As money becomes increasingly digitalized, individuals have more opportunities to benefit from the utility that cryptocurrencies and their decentralized ecosystems provide.
JAX Entertainment and MetaJAX believe that artists and musicians should be at the forefront of this opportunity. Jazz and its community of musicians have historically been both exceptional and disruptive. Professional musicians of all genres almost always look to their jazz icons as a major influence on their style and career. Jazz musicians are often the first to introduce new ideas of style, form, and function to the global music scene.
For generations, artists and musicians have been dependent upon 3rd party intermediates such as record labels, distributors, radio stations, promoters, and more recently streaming services. This model, which has become known as "the industry" has evolved into an unsustainable economic framework of diminishing returns for all but an elite few artists and musicians. Often, there is limited correlation between musicianship, skill, craft, or performance value and successful monetization of music performance and mastery.
MetaJAX is uniquely positioned to offer rare, high-value music performances by exceptional artists and musicians presented and preserved in very special and exclusive ways. MetaJAX does this by collaborating with these rare talents to create new revenue models without diminishing or precluding existing revenue streams. The new models are built on decentralized, encrypted platforms that unlock the otherwise hidden value produced by capturing unique, skillful, and highly-specialized expert performances.
These performances become digital collectibles built on a technology framework known as Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)*. NFTs are unique digital items with blockchain-managed proof-of-custody and provenance. This gives the artist/musician and fans true shared ownership of a portfolio of digital collectibles produced from these rare performances.
NFT's produced from this CryptoJazz Weekender will be available to collectors in the weeks and months following the event. Attendees will have opportunity to learn more and discuss NFTs and the impact of cryptocurrencies on music and the arts at the event.
MetaJAX has been presenting special tokenized NFT events since April 11, 2021 known as JAXblast events. See JAXblast - Nft, Music, Jazz
*IF YOU WANT TO KNOW MORE
NFTs are:
• IMMUTABLE - cannot be counterfeited or replicated with enforceable persistent properties that cannot be modified.
• PROVABLY SCARCE - a specific number of a specific rare item can be created and tracked with provable ownership.
• PROGRAMMABLE - contract details like royalties, ownership rights and splits, metadata, and even complex mechanics, like forging, crafting, redeeming, and random generation can be programmed into the NFT. Possibilities are nearly endless.
• VALUABLE - a game changer for creative works such as music and art, enabling new markets for buying, selling, trading, and collecting. Music and art can be difficult to extract value (aka money or Liquidity) from. NFT’s can bring Liquidity to music and art. Especially exceptional music and art such as what JAX Entertainment is all about.
