TeeGees is a community-driven collectibles NFT PFP project with rewards and benefits for jazz musicians and the fans and audiences that love them. As collectible jazz, TeeGees NFTs are created with 77 hand drawn traits of instruments, coifs & chapeaux, legs, bodies, accents & backgrounds. Each TeeGee is a unique, non-fungible token (NFT) on the Polygon Network of the Ethereum blockchain bringing the musical expressiveness of jazz to the crypto world, thus CryptoJazz.
As a TeeGees Holder you can participate in Members Only Events as well as direct and determine the use of the TeeGees Community (DAO) Treasury. This Treasury will be seeded with at least 60 ETH after the public sale ends to be used to empower underserved artists & musicians around the world. Holders can design, propose, and vote for projects, experiences, activations and campaigns that benefit these musicians. This pool will be sustained by a 2% royalty assignment from every secondary market sale as well as other creative projects as proposed and voted on by Holders.
The road map for TeeGees is collaborative and will be decided by TeeGees holders. Jazz has a history of being creative, innovative, countercultural and disruptive. We expect this community to continue creating music, art, and experiences that transform the community and culture in positive ways.
We can't even imagine what happens when TeeGees get together and start forming bands and guilds. Music definitely happens...and maybe, even more little musicians start emerging? Stay tuned as the game of music unfolds...
TeeGees Holders are automatic members of the MetaJAX DAO.

The TEE GEES NFT PFP mid-century modern artworks are collectible jazz musicians playing their musical instruments. Their total trait design possibilities are:
There are many incredible jazz musicians making music in this world who are on the brink of not being able to do what they were created to do anymore. The MetaJAX Community is on a mission to turn these underserved global treasures into a true store of value. Initially, MetaJAX Entertainment is curating and producing 30 high-value musical recording projects featuring exceptional jazz artists that set the standard and get the ecosystem going. The goal is to introduce community-generated and DAO funded projects of collectible jazz into the ecosystem at scale in 2023.
This mission will be accomplished by the artists themselves and funded by those of us who love and appreciate their exceptional talent, mastery, and art.
This mission is empowered by blockchain technology that was not available to previous generations.
This community will work in force together with others in the space to turn current music business models upside down. The objective is to make the music in this ecosystem owned equally and directly by artists and those that love them & their music.
The TeeGees NFT PFP project will build and strengthen this community as well as help fund this mission and vision.

ABOUT TONY GUERRERO
The TeeGees NFT PFP series of collectible jazz are the creation of MetaJAX Musical Producer & Resident Artist, Tony Guerrero. Mid-Century Modern stylings are a natural sensibility for him in both his music & his visual design.
As a music artist and producer, Tony has garnered both critical success & a worldwide audience. He has toured the United States & much of the world as a headliner in major jazz festivals, concert halls, & clubs & has enjoyed commercial radio success not only with his own releases but with the music he’s written for other artists. See his extensive music credits here.
Tony has cartooned since childhood, always gravitating to the classic, mid-century aesthetic.
Tony, a first generation American, is not only an advocate and activist for musicians' and artists' rights, but also the Founder and President of FACT Alliance (Fight Against Child Trafficking).
IN TONY'S OWN WORDS
My interest in Mid-Century illustration began before my interest in music. Being born in 1966, my earliest illustration influences were, by default, mid-century, but it took a lifetime of new experiences - mostly musical - to bring me back full-circle to a style that I consider to be timeless and just as relevant today as ever. As a kid I dreamt of being a cartoonist and idolized Charles Schulz. His simple yet expressive line drawings captured my imagination and influenced my own drawing style. The more intricately drawn comics ranging from Krazy Kat (1913-1944) through Calvin & Hobbes (1985-1995) also held my interest and influenced my style, but it was the simplicity of comics like Peanuts, Drabble and Foxtrot that I found myself mimicking the most. I first started designing TeeGees in 2020 for I knew what and NFT PFP was without even considering that I might actually be creating a collectible jazz piece.
As the years passed my life became mostly about jazz music and I was specifically drawn to the artists and lifestyle of the 1940s through the 1960s. Through this life focus I began to get well acquainted with the illustrations and artwork of that era. This then-new style was prevalent in the album artwork on the records I loved and was also a major part of the advertising and animation of the day. The illustrations of the “Mid-Century Post-War Atomic Age” utilized the abstract aesthetics of artists like Picasso and Pollack and gave their images a decidedly free-flowing, improvisational feel very similar to the most important attributes of jazz. The truly great illustrators could take the most common object, perhaps a saxophone, and bend and twist the image almost beyond recognition (and most definitely beyond functionality!) and yet still make it very clear what it was supposed to be. Very often you could almost actually see the movement from a still image.
There are countless nameless artists of the day that I could count as influences, but two of the biggest would be Cliff Roberts, a leading illustrator of the era who often drew music related themes (most notably for Langston Hughes’ book “The First Book of Jazz”) and was a master of the three color artwork I gravitate towards, and the animated cartoons from UPA Animation Studios (United Productions of America) which was spearheaded by a team of rebel animators who wanted more artistic freedom than what they were given in the bigger studios like Disney, Universal, Paramount, etc.
As I began to draw again, the influences of my early love of simply drawn cartoons and my appreciation for mid-century jazz and illustration began to come together in my own illustrations. The TeeGees are one attempt from me to use the simple lines, limited colors and somewhat abstract figures that have been such an influence for me combined with my love of jazz music that, I believe, goes hand-in-hand with the style.
Thank you for enjoying my designs and being an active part in supporting the MetaJAX community.
